Here’s the thing. I never got to see them live back then. Somehow it just didn’t happen. Life, timing, whatever. I waited more than 30 years.

Thirty. Years.

I finally saw them in 2018. And the wait did not disappoint. At all. His voice still had that pull. Instantly. No nostalgia goggles. No “back in the day” qualifiers. Just… yep. Still works.

“She Sells Sanctuary” was never about overexplaining. It was about mood. About feel. About that slow pull that hit you before you had words for it.

MTV was really good at that.
